Objectives

  • Preserve, conserve and exhibit its collections of pre-Columbian art objects, the ethnographic and other Costa Rican art expressions as part of our Cultural Heritage.

  • Institute the main pillars forming the philosophical framework of the Jade Museum’s operation:

    • Sensibility and respect for cultural expressions

    • Education

    • Social responsibility

    • Customer satisfaction

  • Satisfy and if possible, exceed the expectations of visitors, promoting a unique sensory experience in each visit.

  • Raise awareness of the collections exhibited, didactically and with scientific and artistic assessment.

  • Disseminate Costa Rican culture in general, using complementary didactic means like cycles of lectures, informal discussions, video projections, digital media, posters, books, catalogues and others.

  • Create consciousness of the value the people’s cultural heritage has, by getting the country’s educational domains interested, so the process starts since early basic general education.

  • Offer the public permanent and temporary exhibitions, varying the subjects exposed so the Museum has a dynamic character.

  • Produce itinerant exhibitions at national and international level, to disseminate the huge richness of our cultural legacy.
